Elevator settings

Featured Replies

Hi all, I am running into some problems with my joystick's elevator settings in MSFS2020 I use a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X joystick in combination with FBW A320. All axes but one work perfectly. It is only elevator down that goes berserk as soon as I only give the slightest touch of elevator down. I have been trying several options for sensitivity, dead zone all to no avail. As soon as I push the stick just a tiny bit forward, the A320 is like a Stuka, attempting to get to the ground soonest in a steep dive. Landings, caused by this misfortune, are all disastrous. The joystick only is a few months old and is working perfectly in Lockheed Martin's Prepar3d. Also calibrating the joystick in Windows 10 before starting up FS2020 doesn't bring smooth elevator down either. I wonder if I am the only one experiencing this problem. (FYI, this behavior is also shown in other FS2020 aircraft). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thans a lot,

Hans

I have the same problem in my elevator access and I haven't found any way to solve it yet.  My sensitivities are down to the minimum and I've even tried editing the aircraft configuration files.  Odd but some seem to have problems and others don't, but there are so many controllers and system configurations, I suppose.

This all started with the latest (December 2020) "update"  of MSFS2020, if I recall correctly. Let's hope that this problem will be tackled with the next update. Or someone here in this forum might come up with a workaround.

No probs here - can you screenshot your settings and button mappings for a closer look to help troubleshoot?

Thanks. I would love to attach a screenshot,  but Avsim won't let me 🙂 . Anyway, here are my elevator settings for Joystick L-AxisY (Elevator). Sensitivity -  -44% Sensitivity + -44% Dead zone 20% Neutral 0% Extremity Dead zone 0% Reactivity 100%. Mind you, I have been using several different settings for these options without the result I hoped to achieve, i.e. a smooth descend instead of a deep dive. Thanks for your help.

Hans van WIjhe

One thing worth trying is a control free and correct check immediately after you spawn. if you cycle the stick through its full movement straight after hitting fly it seems to reset a few odd control issues .

Thanks, that's interesting. I will give it a try later today.

Tried it and, strangely enough, it seemed to have smoothed out the elevator movements pretty well. Thanks a bunch for your suggestion.
