Sceneries not working

Recommended Posts

Hey,

My P3D kept crashing so I referred to this post -  https://prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=115756

Sadly like I always do, I didn't really think before doing anything and deleted all the files that the post told to deleted and now my Orbx sceneries won't work. their installed in the orbx library in my /:D drive. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling them but nothing will work. only the addons with an addon.xml file located in the P3Dv5 addons folder work now. what should I do?

Thanks!

Yuval

Can you run Orbx Central and verify each sceneries' files?

When you say they don't work, you mean that they don't appear in the sim?

Sicne you say that 'only sceneries with addon.xml' appear, it seems to me that the problem is that sceneries that you installed by the old method (straight into the P3D folder and added through the scenery.cfg) don't work, right? First thing I would recommend is to check your scenery library. Are the Orbx addons that 'don't work' present?

Unfortunately I'm not sure what to suggest with regards to that thread you linked to. Those folders and files should be remade upon P3D startup (I think - I don't recognize the ones with 'default' in the name), so if returning them to default by his method didn't work, then the issue lies not with them, is all...

Hey,

thanks from replying.

I verified all the files but still nothing...

In Orbx Central under settings, click on "Help" and then click "Sync Simulator". I think that'll fix it.

Regarding scenario’s : on both my pc’s the Main scenario can never be loaded and then it loads the default flight ( F-35 ).

If I startup P3D and then manually choose a Saved scenario it works normally.

So if I have saved a flight and made that my Main scenario it wil not load when starting up P3D. This is since V5.

Anyone else experienced this too ?

Works fine here Gerard. Any flight I save can be the flight that the simulator starts up with.

In the Prepar3D.CFG this item points to your saved flight

[USERINTERFACE]
SITUATION=C:\Users\you\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Files\MyDefaultFlight
SHOW_SCENARIO_WINDOW=1

If SHOW_SCENARIO_WINDOW=0 the flight goes straight into the cockpit, if =1 the scenario screen comes up with the aircraft from the default flight showing in the vehicle 3D view window.

Hi Steve,

In both my P3D.cfg files there is no situation line

If I delete the P3D.cfg files, have P3D make new ones and try to save a Scenario as the Main flight those lines do not appear ...

I do that then with a flight ready I choose to save it and also check the box on the left marked Default. The situation line appears in the .cfg with the name of the flight file, there are three files in the "\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Files" folder: .fxml, .spb, .wx.

That is exactly what I do, however when rebooting P3D I get the message that the Saved flight cannot be loaded and the Default flight will be loaded.

My Saved flight is in the P3Dv5 Files folder.

That is a strange problem. Are there any spaces in the path to where your P3Dv5 folder is? If so, you may need to put quotes around the entry.

Then perhaps your saved flight relies on some aspect of the simulator that is not available until the simulator is fully started. I would try a saved flight with another aircraft to eliminate the aircraft in the problem saved flight file.
