G-sync unstable syncing with 3rd party add-ons ( Pacx,SLC)

Featured Replies

Hi

When i use TFDi Pacx or Self-loading cargo with G-sync enabled, MSFS starts to stutter. When i minimize Pacx( for example) everything works fine and smooth. I was checking both fps counters of Monitor and MSFS and syncing was unstable.

While Sim is between the range of 50-55fps, monitor counter is syncing  between 50s and 90s. For some reason is trying to reach a higher refresh rate and i guess this is the main cause of those stutters.

PC spec; 8700k @ 5.1 ,  Asus OC RTX3090 , ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q Gaming Monitor - 27" 2K WQHD (2560 x 1440) IPS, overclockable 165Hz, G-SYNC™

if anyone knows which is the cause of this issue, let me know!

thanks

Seth

Single monitor or dual? If single, sounds like it’s syncing to whatever windows is ‘on top’

I have 2 monitors. I made also many tests with Single ( Asus main monitor) the stutter is there when Pacx is working.

With Rex Weather force or Navigraph charts window  i dont have any issue, frames are 100% synchronized

Maybe that has to do with FSUIPC7 as i had similar issues with simtoolkitpro live map.

Enable gsync only on full screen, I had the same issue with SPAD next

that's the problem, G-sync works only on fullscreen and windowed for MSFS

So, set it via profile in Nvidia inspector. Thats what I do

In Nvidia control panel = fullscreen only.

In Nvidia inspector, MSFS profile, fullscreen and windowed mode.

G-sync always worked best this way for me in MSFS.

MSFS profile on Nvidia inspector has 2 G-sync modes ( Application & Global), i have both Fullscreen and windowed , correct?

Yes that’s correct. I use spad.next and fsuipc minimised and they don’t seem to be causing an issue here

when i have Pacx minimized no issues also. Stutters-unstable syncing starts when 3rd addons are visible as windows on top of MSFS

That will always  happen. Regardless. G-Sync always syncs to what ever window is on top. For example, if I click over to navigraph charts, g-sync will disconnect and when I click back in to msfs it will re-sync. There is no way around that. Nature of the beast..... only other way is to get a second pc or tablet for your other screens....

But even when i use MSFS as my main window while PACX is enabled on the 2nd monitor or working behind there are still those stutters from unstable syncing. I made a research and looks like the windowed full screen ( Borderless) has some serious bugs on multitasking. For example if you open youtube on 2nd monitor and playing a video this will create stutters while gaming. On exclusive Full screen there is not issues at all.

Yes, this is why if you set fullscreen only in nvidia control panel, and the setup a profile for MSFS in nvidia inspector, it will get rid of that problem 🙂

i wish! even with this setup of NV control panel / Nvidia inspector i have the same stutters. If you have any of those add-on soundpacks or even Simtoolkitpro live map  you could make your own tests.

by the way looks like MS servers are down, Live weather is not working
