I know this might be an odd question here, since most of us want more systems depth and not less, but is it possible to gain the flight model improvements of the mod without the added systems integration?

That’s currently keeping from using the mod. I don’t have the time anymore to mess with FMCs and the like. I would like to just make short hop, say from Tampa to Miami without a lot of hoopla, but still be able to fly the aircraft by the numbers.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thats what i've been using. Surprisingly rock solid since the last update and ive been able to adjust the difficulty as needed Sometimes i want to sit and put everything manually into the FMC from a sim-brief flight plan  and sometimes i set up the flight plan from the world menu and off i go.

The MCDU or FMC as you called it isnt even moddeled correctly. You dont have to do anything with it. it calculates V speeds without any information inputted from the pilot which isnt realistic. If you dont want to import your flightplan from simbrief with the mod via the MCDU you can just add your flightplan using the simulator at the world screen and load up the flight that way. The MCDU really isnt all that complex as it stands right now. For example sometimes I input my DEST weather and sometimes I dont. Its really not necessary right now as the plane calculates the VAPP for you regardless. The MCDU is still very basic.
