January 18, 20215 yr What is the best way to ensure that the FO's actions are performed at the same time as he/she announces the action in the script. The script either runs through much quicker than the resultant actions with the script completing sooner than the actions, or the actions get performed before the FO announces the action. This can lead to actions being performed at the wrong time resulting in issues. I've tried adding "pause=2" or "pause=3" etc between commands but is this the only way to try and synchronise the two. The above seems more noticeable when using a TTS voice for the FO.

I find that with complex aircraft, it is more fluent to write your own voicescript & which uses voxkey activation of the action (assigned by fsuipc) Edited January 19, 20215 yr by vadriver for now, cheers john martin

What you described mostly applies to "Verbose" flows. Could be your particular TTS voice struggling to output audio. Those fonts use some kind of engine to genberate the actual audio, and if your PC is on its knees, they could struggle to get CPU attention. I assume you're not using affinity maks or things like that which would constrain MCE (or the TTS engine) to a single CPU core? Obviously, not the case with recorded voice packs we provide. Which voice font are we talking about here? Are you using a USB headset or a conventional one. If it's conventional, are you using a Realtek audio device? Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com

Normally Microsoft TTS David or recorded voice Robert, as I often include a Notify= for reminders or other statement. Are you using a USB headset or a conventional one. If it's conventional, are you using a Realtek audio device? I use a USB headset set to MCE, but Realtek output as default playback to my pc speakers for everything else as I have a Buttkicker! Gerald, thanks for the advice. I've embedded answers to your questions. Edited January 19, 20215 yr by STUART_H

Yes, can add pauses from 4 sec 120 (2 minutes) or optionally until you tell him to continue the flow. Since it's taking your TTS time to output speech, use the Notify feature first, estimate how long it would take the speech to go through and add the action. I wonder whether having audio output on speakers is the root of the issue. When you do that, you could easily be feeding the mike with a continuous stream of noise that the speech engine is trearing as "potential speech" (needless processing). First, try all audio, including engine sounds on headset to see if it makes a difference. On WIndows 10, it is known that Realtek drivers are buggy. Go to Windows Control Panel, add remove programs. Locate Realtek hi-definition audio and un-install. Restart PC. Windows will detect audio device and assign it its own digitally certified drivers. They work better for speech reco and speech synthesis. Finally, knowing MSFS is a CPU and memory hog, go to "About" tab in MCE user interface and check how much physical memory is left when running FS 2020. Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
January 19, 20215 yr Author Thanks a lot for the hints. I'll try a few things and see if it helps. Don't really want all sound through the headphones though as sometimes fly on VATSIM and our FSD Server/Teamspeak plus I would loose the effect of the Buttkicker. I'll try with the windows drivers instead of Realtek.
