Lets start with the formalities....  Welcome to Avsim.  You have found a great place where there are light years of user to user sharing and assistance.  Always happy to see new members.

In regard to the 430, what settings have you made in the RXP menu?  Shift right-click on the top edge of the gauge's bezel.  In some aircraft you need to do this on the popup gauge.   The User Manual can be found in your Windows Start menu under R, and Reality XP.

ILS or RNP approaches.

Did you select the correct CDI setting? VLOC for ILS and GPS for RNP?

In case of RNP please note that there could be a bug not coupling the CDI signal to the autopilot. But the VDI itself works correctly. So in that case descend control should be manual.

Thank you both for the useful comments. I went back to the X-plane plugin settings for the GNS 430 and I didn't have the "Master Device" box checked.  Once I checked it, the CDI started working properly.  FWIW, I currently have the following Panel Instruments checked: Master Device, connect GPS to Autoopilot, Connect GPS to VOR1 indicator, Connect CDI Mode to Nav/GPS Switch (this is for the vFlyte Piper Arrow II.  I haven't had a chance to try the Bonanza out yet.  Thanks again!!

For my setteings see:

In the meantime I found the following bugs:

  • Ghost TCAS warning near ground when landing
  • On LPV and most likely also for LNAV/VNAV LP+V, LNAV+V:
    • GS flag not removed
    • GPS vertical guidance not coupled to autopilot

I reported the "Ghost TCAS" warning in another thread - F33A, JF Piper Arrow.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've commented on the TCAS ghosts in the GTN forum (this is the same code in both products so anything affecting one is affecting the other):

As for the LPV question, please allow me a few more days to finish catching up and I'll start topics to gather outstanding issues in a single place.
