Does P2A consider receiving status of COM radios?

Featured Replies

So I'm running into the following issue in MSFS using the WT CJ4 (haven't tried it in a stock aircraft, but I suspect it's a general problem) - when I set COM1 to active and COM2 to receiving only, the ATIS provided by P2A only plays if I have dialed in the frequency into COM1. If I have the frequency only in COM2, but COM2 is not active but just receiving, I don't hear anything.

This works fine when using the stock MSFS ATIS instead of P2A's, but for that I'd have to enable the MSFS ATC voices which isn't really an option for obvious reasons. The use case for this is that I'd like to dial in the arrival airport ATIS on COM2 and leave it on receiving, so that I get it once I get in range.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks Dave!

It would certainly be a great feature to have. Should it make any difference in terms of difficulty, having this at least for ATIS (and not 2 controllers in general) would already be awesome. Though I suspect it won't really matter, don't know if ATIS is just handled like a separate 'controller' anyways...

Well I hope this will make it into some future version eventually!

Thanks,

Dirk

Hi,

@woodstock327 Just in case Dave has not correctly got your question (or maybe it's me so I apologize!) what you describe works perfectly for me (com1 = P2ATC, com2=ATIS of arrival airport) but when you set that in the plane using the dials in the plane not via the Pilot2ATC application. I hope that was your question.

cheers

@louisgr thanks for the suggestion, but that's actually not the problem. I do set the ATIS frequency into COM2 using the plane dials, but based on Dave's answer P2A does not monitor COM2 when it is inactive / set to receive-only. If I make COM2 active I hear the ATIS fine.

Thanks!

Dirk
