MSFS Control Mapping

Featured Replies

Mods,

I am obviously in the wrong MSFS Forum here but I do not want to post in the VR forum and there is nothing else that I can see.  Could you please point this to the right place if possible.

What I want to achieve with this query is

1. to map a spare throttle and working throttle quadrant for the following.

a. lever 1 to gear up and gear down.  This I have already mapped and it is working well.

b. first switch below that lever to heading up and heading down. This obviously has to be a repeat function. The only reason for this is that I find it almost impossible even in smooth flight to use the heading knob as it is constantly coming off the sweet spot and suddenly I am in mouse look mode, which I find infuriating.

c.  second switch to be mapped to altitude up and altitude down. Again, this has to be a repeat function and for the same reason as above.

d. third switch to be mapped to either Vertical speed up and down, OR course (as in heading) up and down.

2. The second lever to be mapped to trim left and right.

3. The third lever to be mapped to rudder trim.

I find the only problem with mapping these is that I cannot find which command to map to which control. ie altitude change ... the only one I feel may be applicable is under "autopilot"  mapped to increase/decrease autopilot reference altitude. but I cannot find anything relating to heading or coarse or vertical speed.

Obviously, these mappings are not absolutely necessary but I am sometimes spending up to five minutes just changing an altitude setting and getting very frustrated in the process.

An alternative, is to hold the aircraft still ie pause ... change altitude or whatever and then un-pause when done which is not incredibly realistic.

I would really appreciate any help here with this and I thank all and any for their advice in advance.

Regards

Tony

Thank you Sir,

Now, where on earth is that, or if you could just give me the title of that sub-forum, I can only find "tips and tricks" and the VR forum.  I am getting old I think mate

When you scroll through the main forum menu, just click on the one that says Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and it will take you to the main forum. When you open in, the two sub forums will appear on top but if you scroll down, you’ll see the main section.

Let me know if this helps otherwise I’ll try to explain it a different way.
