Performance drop on latest Windows Update

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I was consistently getting 40+ fps on any aircraft on P3D v 4.5 (FSL 25+). GTX 2080 TI and 10900K.

I saw Windows updated last week and now I'm about half the frames and can tell my computer is working harder.

Anyone else experiencing the same? Any clues how to fix?

Windows actually forced the update on me.  I was going to delay it after reading some issues people were having.  I hadn't heard of performance issues, but many on here are having sound ducking issues.  All is good on my end however with the updates.

Maybe check if it has turned on Windows Defender real time scanning by default. Also check in Nvidia control panel that any graphics settings have not been changed, and check Power Settings in Windows control panel, in case they have been changed to power saving.

I find Windows 10 a complete pain with it's forced and largely unspecified updates making changes I don't want. The previous update wiped out use of my touchscreen cdu. It then refused to recognise the drivers which had been working fine. I have found very little in Windows 10 that is an improvement on Windows 7.
