February 21, 20215 yr The internet broke JoinFS! I don't understand much about the technical details but it seems that an internet resource used by JoinFS changed to IPv6 and this caused connection issues for many users. Peter has this morning (Sunday 21st Feb) got a test version with a fix on the JoinFS development page. It looks as though the new version is not going to be compatible with previous versions so we will all need to update our JoinFS installations. https://pmem.uk/joinfs/development.html It is probably worth checking at the end of the week in case any further updates have been needed.
February 22, 20215 yr Thank Nick. (Good place to post here). All will require the new JoinFS v2.0.4 and hopefully this will fix the connectivity issues (amongst other things). (All previous versions of JoinFS are no longer compatible as IPv4 and IPv6 communication protocol addresses/locations have been changed in the new version). Edited February 22, 20215 yr by nbrich1
February 22, 20215 yr For the record, our Saturday/Wednesday server has been updated to 2.0.4 and appears to be behaving itself. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
February 23, 20215 yr Perfect Ron. Thanks sir. Additionally, the digitialthemepark server has also been updated with the new IPv4 and IPv6 Ethernet protocols that match the new JoinFS v2.0.4. (Confirmed Zoolander) and yesterday we tested connectivity with no exceptions. NOTE: All MUST update to the latest version of JoinFS v2.0.4 client/app. Norm ( JoinFS Version 2.0.4 - Fixed connection issue related to ipv4.icanhazip.com/ returning an IPv6 address. Now using two different web services). Edited February 23, 20215 yr by nbrich1
February 23, 20215 yr All right Norm, calm down. It's just an update. 😀 The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
February 23, 20215 yr Always calm! Now this is not exactly just an update, well it is but it does contain brand new connectivity protocol addresses, meaning if you don't update to the new version, you don't connect!. Simple. 🤪 Edited February 23, 20215 yr by nbrich1
February 23, 20215 yr Oh no! Not brand new connectivity protocol addresses. 🤪 The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
