So it makes absolutely no sense to use the plugin for the X-AT beside P2A Frank J. Herter

Tom Yes, has worked every time for me to, i don’t think i say the word “clearance” just <callsign> “request direct to kilo oscar tango oscar romeo”. I’m fairly new to p2atc, but have been using it for my recent flights and was pleased to see that this worked!
