December 19, 200619 yr I Just saw an AI dash-8 fly into a mountain. you heard me right. I was at kpsp (palm sprimgs) in an extra 300 and took off rwy 31l while a dash8 left on 31r i followed it through a left turn then a slight right (330) after take off. I got to thinking ,"hey theres a mtn ahead....climb...climb...terrain..." but the dash8 pilot ignored my warning (WIFE ASKED WHY I WAS TALKING TO SELF) and then it happened,.....he flew right thru the mtn. you cant run into them but, they can run into mtn's. LOL o much for "as real as it gets" Gary TrammellPro Rodeo Announcer"never squat with your spurs on"
December 19, 200619 yr Have you been asked to attend the virtual enquiry Gary?Maybe the crew of the Dash 8 were virtually incomptetant especially watching them land sometimes, on top of each other without clearance eh?At least it puts us in favour, we might give them a few bumpy landings but we get them there safely! It should be virtually impossible for this to happen...............(I can see that this could become a long thread? A bit of humour on top of Xmas would be nice?) ;-) :-) Dave Taylor
December 19, 200619 yr They fly out the other side alive and well (though presumably a little disorientated).
December 19, 200619 yr it's not new Captain Kirk & his crew in the Star Ship Enterprise have been doing it for years, teleporting, "beam me up Scotty".:-spacecraft
December 20, 200619 yr Yeah it's sort of silly watching it happen, it wouldn't be so bad if they actually crashed in fact it might be iteresting to watch it happen. In the Carribean landing mission where you land the CRJ there is a 747 waiting to take off once you clear the runway, I've never seen it make it over the hill after take off, in one side and out the other. I hope they'll patch this in the future. RE Thomason Jr.

LOL o much for "as>real as it gets" >>>Gary Trammell>Pro Rodeo Announcer>>"never squat with your spurs on"LOL Well, I have never seen this, but I imagine it must go on now and then. I try NOT to crash, so don't know how FSX's crash depiction looks yet, lol. I have heard (and noticed from bad taxiing sometimes) that you can't hit buildings anymore, you just sort of clip through them; someone told me this was because of 9/11-used to be if you had crashes turned on, and ran into say a tall building you would crash, but not anymore. Come to think of it, though, I think for realism's sake, they should model better crashes for us, so if you have crashes turned on, and don't land correctly, you pay the consequences with a wreck. After all, their catchphrase is "as real as it gets," right? Let's have improved crash modeling! I got some simulator time at flight safety years ago, and when you crash one of their sims, you know it, brother :)"never play poker with a man named doc""never eat a place called "mom's"
December 26, 200619 yr You sure there are no building crashes anymore?I think they still work.. But.. I'll have to double check.. I'm pretty sure you can still crash a building. Not that I try to do that very often... :/I have noticed that the cars that drive on the highwaysare not crashable.. I tried running down a few SUV's with the baron one time. I passed right through the windshieldof one of them.. Nary a crash.. MK Mark Keith
December 26, 200619 yr Doing the Midwest flyin misson I saw a Beaver coming in to land. I went in a little closer to watch (not too close :-sae ) . He aborted and on the go-around seemed to try to land again.. clipped the shore and flipped it. I swear it wasnt my fault!!! I can atest that you can crash into builidings.
