March 10, 20215 yr I am perfectly willing to accept everything that you write at length as your truth but I reserve the right to disagree. This does not suggest a challenge to you or your views, just a request to accept that not everyone shares them. I simply think that we, meaning everyone on the planet, including wealthy private companies, should sort out our home before attempting to add to our problems by filling near space with unnecessary clutter.

Fair enough, but you misrepresented my comments and claimed I was of an opinion I obviously wasn't. Hence why I responded. Quote I simply think that we, meaning everyone on the planet, including wealthy private companies, should sort out our home before attempting to add to our problems by filling near space with unnecessary clutter. Again... we can do both. One does not negate the other. Private companies putting stuff in space has absolutely no bearing on whether we "sort out our home". Political will and legislation is required to "sort out our home". If all wealthy companies that put stuff in space, all stopped doing so now, from today... it would make absolutely no difference as to whether we "sort out our home". March 10, 20215 yr To see it as politics, in my opinion, that differs from yours, is to take too small a view. Those who are in possession of the knowledge that this is a battle for survival, that at present is being lost, have been speaking out for years and backing up their words with facts. Regrettably, not enough of us have been listening.

Whether we act to mitigate the environmental issues we face is political. It requires, as you said, significant change, significant intervention, that comes from political will and legislation. You and I can save our pennies and buy some insulation for a roofs and we can recycle a few cans, but its government policy and action that is required to make a significant difference. Quote Those who are in possession of the knowledge that this is a battle for survival, that at present is being lost, have been speaking out for years and backing up their words with facts. Of course, which was why I said our crime is procrastination. Our crime is not acting, despite the definitive scientific evidence. Quote Regrettably, not enough of us have been listening. Depends which specific environmental threat you are talking about but in terms of climate change, in most countries, a significant percentage agree its an issue. But here's the thing, you and me, the general public, do not have the capability to make a big impact regarding fixing environmental issues. Only government has that capability.
