T45 first outing

I really enjoy the JF Hawk in X-Plane, one of my go-to planes for low level buzzing around the UK, so I had to get this. Didn't feel like it ought to be hedge-hopping in the midlands so we're taking a short hop here out of HEGR on the Sinai borders and up the coast over Gaza to LLRS. No political or other ramifications intended, just wanted to go somewhere sunny and hadn't tried that particular patch before. Assuming the scenery in the sim is essentially generally accurate, in terms of landscape and colour etc, it was a bit of an eye-opener to see Gaza, in the sense that you only ever hear about the place in almost apocalyptic terms on the news. It looks quite beautiful, and (without wanting to get political in any way shape or form) makes you realise what a shame it is that we can't all just get on together a bit better (and I don't just mean here on the forum <grin>). You can't see borders from the air! (yeah yeah,, I know there are some places where you will see signs, but you know what I mean).

Anyway, I like the plane, As usual, no real opinion about it's capability - I'm just an old "ctrl-E" kinda guy, but it looks fine to me and flies easily enough for me to handle it. I did have a couple of periods of stuttering in the sim during the flight, and as this has been the one and only flight in the T45 so far I don't know it it was the cause. I wasn't doing anything else on the PC and I certainly wasn't doing anything fancy in the aircraft. At this point I'm just going to assume it was another act of random microsofticity on my system.

Great shots.  I heard there is a FPS issue in the cockpit due to legacy textures etc?  Do you notice any issues?

That's interesting. I did get bursts when the FPS dipped down to 10 or so and it all stuttered along for a few seconds and then it went back up to my normal 30. I also had the same thing this afternoon with a couple of other aircraft that were both products of the legacy converter process. I'd wondered if it was something to do with the latest update, but I shall experiment now with some other aircraft.

I have been getting a few dips as well, and the manual also suggests the use of DLAA for proper readability of the HUD, but I have noticed it causes some graininess on surfaces and knobs/switches.  But overall its a fun bird

I suspect this is more to do with whatever bug it is that came in with the last update. I'm getting those slowdowns and freezes with all aircraft and all locations since that **** update.

Love this plane...beautiful pictures, Andy, and, you must be needing a larger (virtual) hangar now...🙂...
