March 10, 20215 yr Hello So i started a flight from JFK to LHR on the qw787. On the first try it crashed right at the gate. The second time i tookoff and used the jump ahead feauture to skip some waypoints and save some time. Then when i started my descent again it crashed. Crashing in the sense the pc just closes down. When i start it once again the plane is reloaded but then the joystick connection is lost. Does anyone know the solution to this problem? Any help will be appreciated Thanks
March 11, 20215 yr If your PC is closing down, then I might assume this is more of a hardware problem that is causing this not the QW787 per say. In all my days, with the limited CTDs I have had, they always crash to desktop, I cannot remember anything FS related that has actually switched the PC off. Without knowing what exactly happens, this could be a heat issue which is causing the PC to reset. There are good freeware programs if you google that monitors temperatures. Does this happen on any other demanding sims or game you have ? March 11, 20215 yr I got these specs off a site https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-940m.c2643 Is this a laptop video card ? It seems a little underpowered to run P3D, I take it you are trying to run P3D. This would be your potential problem. March 11, 20215 yr Author So once again i flew the flight, this time with good ventilation and preventing overheating, reducing the settings as well. But i noticed that whenever i do the landing performance calculation the laptop shuts down Just to inform you that it shut down again Edited March 11, 20215 yr by IDLE POWER
September 17, 20214 yr Not sure if you got this problem resolved. I have having the same problem, with no resolution. I have a high end PC with great cooling buth the CPU and Graphics card temps are very low. This only happens with the QW 787 product, I use PMDG 747-8, QW 757, iFLY 747 &, LVLD 76-300 with same conditions and no crashes. Interesting enough, I get better FPS and use less VAS with the QW 787 than the PMDG and it's the QW 787 that crashes so i know it's not memory a memory issue. I have reached out to QW support but they couldn't figure out what the issue might be. I am also running FSX with Win 7. I am not sure if improvements / changes made may have inadvertently affected FSX and or Win 7 (which I am on). I think most developers now test with Win 10 and P3D. Regards. Forshaw.
September 20, 20214 yr P3D crashing when the window resizes I don't think is exclusive to the QW787. I used to experience this with the TFDi 717. Both products use reallight and trueglass. Try removing reallight, and trueglass lines from the panel.cfg file. Or move the reallight.dll, and trueglass.dll files from your sims /gauges folder to someplace outside P3D's directory tree. See if you get different results. hello
