Rudder authority adjustment

Featured Replies

Hi, Is any way after selecting an aircraft and adjusting under flight model rudder authority adjustment from default 0.00 to a new value let's say -1.00 to have it saved?
The problem I have is that when I re-start the sim instead of keeping the setting I adjusted to it does return to 0.00 and have to go again through the same process.
I wonder why is that if I go under control settings and change to a new value is carried over without any resetting to default.

Thank you.

Not sure on your question but does anyone know what these new settings actually do and how they differ from the settings in the sensitivity options?

I think they cannot be saved, because the changes are only temporary, and have to be set a every occasion from the World Map screen. I believe all those items in that menu work in the same way.

They try to reduce over-sensitivity situation with this adjustment versus fixing the real problem.

Thanks Ed,  something is very wrong with these people.

Make sure you're pressing "apply and save" after making any changes in the sim. Do it after each change you make before going to a different menu to be safe:-) If you don't, things will revert back too.

To me, it makes sense in some way, it helps when you want to differentiate your fleet and apply different settings for different flight situations.

However, in the case of the tail number, I've noticed that if you set the tail number to a specific registration, you could use it forever until you decide to change it (it keeps written in its field in the menu).

You might be right, but I don't see "apply and save" as an option on my PC.

Thank you Ed, I have to try that and report back.

Thank you!

Ed,
If you have time step by step instructions will help.
I did put a tail#, adjusted to -1.0, and did a short flight. I closed MSFS and restarted, when I checked the same airplane it will show the tail# but the setting was back at 0.00. So the only change that was retained was only the tail#.

I suspect its another bug. I find it impractical, having to go back to reset this after every flight. The tail number was the same on release, then they eventually corrected this. Just another indication that something is wrong either with their thinking or their testing process.

I know the sim is young, but I am getting frustrated with the bugs. The only thing that seem to work consistently (and extremely annoyingly), is the word not allowed logbook pop up at engine shutdown after a flight.

Yes, that's is correct. It's the way it works. You have to reset your authority settings for your airplane on each flight (before). You could live your tail number permanent if you wish and you'll always see your setting written in the menu field. That's mentioned somewhere, I think in the release notes.
