"Show ATC text"

Featured Replies

Hi,Just to verify you are using FSUIPC version 4.065 with MSFSX?Rename FSX.cfg to BackFSX.cfgMove the BackFSX.cfg to one of you personal directories. You can, if need be, always go back to the renamed file later.Start MSFSX, it should now create a new FSX.CFG file.Quit MSFSXGo to the FSX directory and verify a new one was created there.Start MSFSX and test.

Fo rme at least, I'm not using FSUIPC & this happened the very first time I Opened FSX. The ATC text always shows even with a "check" in the box to NOT show it. I looked for a duplicate config & can't find any so I'm at a loss.Jim

Jim,A check in the box = show ATC text

I don't know about anybody else but I am using the latest version of FSUIPC (non-registered version - 4.2 or something like that I think) and I actually did remove the FSX.cfg file from it's location and let the sim create a new one and I am still getting the same result.

Are you running any other programs like Radar Contact or AIsmooth?Or, are you doing the testing with only FSX and a default FSX aircraft running?

No Radar Contact. I have AIsmooth but it is not running.Testing with default everything. Actually, I don't even have to be in an aircraft to make it happen. I can go right into the Settings area change it, move to another screen, go back again and the checkmark is back.

OK,If I am looking at the ATIS information (ATIS frequency in COMM 1)scrolling across the screen (in a narrow green stripe) and I go and remove the ShowAtc checkmark from the box .. click OK.At that moment I still see the previous ATC messace still scrolling across the screen. However, if I wait until that previous message completes and I continue listening to ATIS the next message only comes out of my speakers. No more text at the top of the screen. No more green stripe.I do get the ATC "box" when I press the "`" key to contact departure control etc.Do you have FSx standard or FSx DELUX version? I have Delux.

I have deluxe.I am aware that the ATC text continues until it finishes the first time (if the checkbox is selected). My problem is I can't get the checkmark to turn off. Well, kinda. I can turn it off but it won't stay off. Like I said earlier, if I uncheck the box, go to any of the other prefs screen (or anything else for that matter) and go back to the General area the box is checked again.

What happens if you unselect the box, click ok, do not click on other options/windows, go back and watch and listen to ATIS airport information. Does the text data keep appearing say for several full messages or does it go away and you hear the sound from the ATIS only?Is this the only checkbox/option selection that has this problem of not remembering you selections? At this point I would probably copy the FSUIPC.dll to a backup directory and try it without FSUIPC running.Send an e-mail to MS, see what they say.Last resort:Uninstall FSXReinstall FSX

If I uncheck and go fly it's fine. But, if I relaunch it's back again.I'll remove FSUIPC and report.Edit...Removed FSUIPC but no luck. Same result.
