GSX jetways and AI traffic: Do they finally work?

Featured Replies

Well, the 35% off at FSDT is hard to ignore, and I'm considering GSX. I tried it at default EDDM: I liked all the Level 1 functions (so it's a sure purchase for me), and I don't care about passengers going up and downstairs. However, I have seen mixed reports about GSX SODE jetways docking to AI aircraft or not doing so. In the EDDM trial I couldn't make them dock to AI aircraft (despite knowing that the default FSX/P3D jetways do dock). I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or it still does not work. I can't still ask at FSDT, I'm awaiting approval.

So, in summary: as of now, do the GSX jetways dock to AI aircraft (as long as they have exits defined, of course)?

Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Running P3D v5.4 (with v4.5 scenery objects as an additional library, just in case), FSX-SE, MSFS2020, MSFS2024 and even FS9! Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

Yes.

However, I have found they only dock when GSX first loads up. So, when you load up at an airport, the GSX jetways will dock to all AI aircraft at stands. However, as aircraft arrive the jetways will not dock.

I don't know if this is just a bug on my end or if others have found this too. I've never cared much to look into it anyway.

An easy workaround I do is just reload GSX engine after landing before requesting my gate to get all the jetways to connect at the arrival airport. This is just with GSX jetways though, not with SODE jetways.

Yes they do.

Open the SODE APP. Go to "tools" and then "settings".

Set "Enable AI Traffic detection" to true.

Check if the other settings are matching your needs.

Close the App. That should help to get Jetways docked automatically to AI.

Cheers,

Marcus

I have this exact issue. I appreciate your work around though. Very helpful. I was excited when I began a flight from PHNL and noticed the jetways docking. I went to a few other FSDT airports, namely KCLT. And noticed them docking to AI. I was so excited I uninstalled DD KORD and gave FSDT my money.

I was wondering why a bigger deal was not made about this. It is what was preventing me from purchasing any more FSDT airports. Now I understand why. It's not 100%

Hopefully they get this working correctly. But Ill take this a huge improvement.

Well, I tried again today before going to work. I don't know what was I doing wrong (apart from enabling AI in SODE settings), but now it works. Now I have to try an approach to EDDM in my heaviest plane (FPS-wise), before deciding on purchase. Thank you everyone for encouraging me to try again!
