Fear of flying...

It's custom, imagine selecting high settings but then I lowering a few to medium like shadown maps, terrain, depth of field ect. I think though that I pay the price for going 3440. Right now I'm parked with a 172 with GPU at 98% and vram at 89%. That's crazy.

Why don't you want the vram fully used? In 4k I always have at least 7 of 8 GB used. Does not impact performance and does no harm.

Not so much a fear of flying but rather;

Before each flight; "Here we go then, what bloody nonsense are we going to have this time," sort of feeling.

Very like the real thing really.

lol reminds me of my training days -

Just some of the issues I had:

- turned up to find out the airstrip was closed for a drag racing time trial day by the local auto club

- turned up to find the trainee from the previous day had ground looped the C152 on his first and put it out of action

- turned up to find the aircraft had thrown a prop blade earlier in the week and was with the LAME

- discovered the current training aircraft (Foxbat) was deregistered for a month due to a dispute between the federal aviation authority and the Australian Ultralight Federation

- numerous times to cloudy, too wet or too windy to train

- tried winch launch gliders at the local glider club and the one time slot I tried to fly the winch cable broke

In the end you just have to persist.

What keeps me often from flying is more the fact, that beeing tyred from dayly work, a hobby which needs a fair ammount of concentration and preparation has sometimes not the best chance against:

- lay down on the couch

- switch on netflix  🥱

-close the eys in very short time 😴

Sitting whole day in front of the screen, there are those periods, whilst it turns me simply off to:

- start the gaming-pc

- fire up Track-IR

- fire up the FFB-equipment

- fire up MSFS

- fire up NeoFly

- choose a location and bird to fly  🤔

- start up LittleNavMap for a flightplan

- kick MSFS into the desired direction

- still miss some good radial-engine-sound...

- being shocked, that you are just now 15 Minutes older than a quarter hour before 😬

BTW:

During the last few days i really enjoied flying a lot with NeoFly, just making short hops in the west-us-region, changing planes sometimes from flight to flight.

I spent a serious ammount of time and money to build up a FFB-system ( based on BFFSimulation-electronics) at the end of last year, which brings me a lot of fun and motivation ( and works flawless than more than 70 hours in P3D and MSFS now ! )

Next step will be the change to VR ( had a lot of fun, using Oculus-Rift for sim-racing, but never mind to use it in MSFS because of the lacking resolution...)

Best regards
