Issue with Aerosoft and Carenado

Featured Replies

Have bought both the Carenado and JF PA28.

I can fly the JF PA28 all day long. It loads into the FS2020 Community Folder.

But the Carenado PA28 does not. Purchased from the Market Place you have no control on where it gets installed. Same thing with the CRJ purchased from Aerosoft.

So when I attempt to fly either the Carenodo PA28 or Aerosoft's CRJ I get instant CTD's. Can anyone solve this frustrating enigma ?

FS2020 running on Steam.

Thanks in advance

You could try uninstalling in the market place, deleting the downloaded files manually and downloading again I suppose.  Though the fact it happens to two aircraft suggests it is not actually the downloads.

Thanks Glenn. Yes I am thinking it is more the way FS2020 is installed.

Couple of days ago I did a roll back and re-installed from the Market Place, but no change.

Really strange. All of the Asobo aircraft work just fine, as does the JF PA28. Something somewhere is causing the Carenado and Aerosoft to CTD every time.

Issue with Carenado and Aerosoft is solved 😊

By turning off AI aircraft.

Bit sad about no AI aircraft (realism) but I will have to live with that.

Interesting.

I expect that turning off the AI switch in the config for the liveries for those aircraft would fix it, though I suspect the Carenado at very least is marketplace and encrypted.

If your CRJ is community folder try disabling the AI functionality for all it's liveries.

Nope. Only aircraft in the Community folder is the JF PA28. The other two are encrypted somewhere else.

What happens if you tell the Ai to "use generic models"  ?

Just a sniff of AI traffic and the sim CTD. Even using generic models.

Do the planes have a traffic display/ TCAS? I can make the sim CTD by just querying AI traffic over SimConnect. Not sure what parameters or variables in the query cause it, but I am 100% sure that any module or external program that requests AI traffic information is a potential risk for CTDs.

Yet another thing that Asobo didn't beta test, I guess.
