April 24, 20215 yr Commercial Member The program uses the descent rate you put into the flight plan and the most recent actual Groundspeed to do the calculations above 10,000 ft and uses 250 kts or actual GS if lower, below 10,000 ft. Edited April 24, 20215 yr by Dave-Pilot2ATC
July 30, 20223 yr Hello, when the ATC directs and gives me the approach vectors, gives me only Heading, not say the Height, how can I fix this? It is very uncomfortable. Thanks in advance.
July 30, 20223 yr Commercial Member Update to the latest Public Beta. You should get descent instructions from your Cruise altitude or cleared for a STAR. That should get you down to near the approach initial altitude. Then, if you're getting vectors, once you're cleared for the approach, you can descend according to the restrictions in the published approach.
July 31, 20223 yr Hi Dave, I too have been confused by vectoring that put me dangerously close to mountains. However, I was generally fine and not too close. The latest public beta does seem to provide better directions. Two questions: Is there a way to request a STAR, just like you can request a runway change? Personally, I often forget to check the GS and descent rate settings before filing. Would there be a way to set up airframe profiles like in Simbrief, allowing for the vast differences between military jets, airliners and propeller planes?
August 1, 20223 yr Hello, I have Beta 6 installed, as soon as I get vectors, I see points on the map and the corresponding altitude indications, but I have to look at the map to keep the altitude, I was wondering if I have something not turned on, unfortunately the ATC gives a course only but the altitude no.
