March 30, 20215 yr So I've flown 130+ hours in the A320 all ILS all using my Saitek Yoke system most using the A320NX mode. I thought I'd start to play with RNAV approach. I've tried NZRO-NZAA (short hop) NZRO/36 NIKOR2R KAMLA then with a RNAV23LS approach. My plan and map all show a correct path into NZAA. When I get to the weigh point before my approach the plane heads direct for NZAA. I try disconnect AP and reconnect. Try direct to next weigh point in MCDU nothing works. The moved to ILS23 at NZAA same happened. Tried on my Logitech Attrack 3 joystick but have moved back to my yoke Megapack liveries, NZRO, NZAA,NZCH freeware scenery installed. Dev mode of A32NX in use. I know the first response will be move to stable and delete all addon's. I'll be doing that next. But as I'm about to go to work. Is there something I'm doing, a particular addon causing this? Does anyone want to give it a crack and see if it happens to them.
March 30, 20215 yr I do a lot of flights around NZAA - and used RNAVs for a while when the ILS was being repaired (in RL - echoed in MSFS, I think). I use the FBW Dev mod - and will try replicate your route. Was this using a Simbrief flight plan or one set up in the MSFS main screen? Which addon are you using for NZAA? Adam.
March 30, 20215 yr Isn't this normal behavior for the buggy A320 flight plan management system in MSFS? It tends to skip way points, heading straight to the destination airport. As far as I know we have to wait for a custom system from the FBW team.
March 31, 20215 yr I just flew that flight plan exactly as yours in the latest FBW (Dev) and it worked perfectly. No skipped waypoints ... all good. Just to make sure I was doing it right, I followed this tutorial: ... except I enabled the LS button on approach, so as to get the vertical indicator. For some reason, the final waypoint/fix (which should be TEGIK) didn't line me up with 23L very well (quite a bit to the right). This may be an MSFS/Navigraph data error. As RNAV isn't a precision approach, I just disabled the A/P and F/D and flew it in from there.
March 31, 20215 yr I’ve tried 3 RNAV approaches in the Dev version of the FBW A320NX and could not get the plane to descend... even after studying that video. I’ve given up on RNAV.
