April 3, 20215 yr This is so much fun. Still practicing with this, can mostly get away clean now, can even do a reasonable hover after take-off, but coming to a hover and landing anywhere accurately still escapes me. Think I need to figure out the sensitivity controls for my stick a bit better. I really need to get this working, the drone cam is great but this adds a whole other dimension to viewing the scenery, and once I get proper control of it, the combination of this, replay, and the drone cam are going to mean I may never see real daylight again! A couple around Southend Pier A few from Wycombe (EGTB) off to EGLL Eton and Windsor Castle just ahead And some lovely countryside around Compton Abbas (EGHA) A real big thank you to @MediaHypeTrain and the guys at HPG - wonderful work! April 3, 20215 yr Nice shots. Absolutely agree. Fun stuff. I just have to figure out how to get better control with a stick and no pedals. The amount of counter torque you need on the rotor gets tiring on the twist stick unless your going at a good speed. CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,
April 3, 20215 yr Absolutely agree. This add-on is wonderful, so you can appreciate the scenery and airports a lot better from the chopper, compared to normal aircraft. And yes, also to me it's very difficult to hover over my landing spot and trying to control the chopper for a proper landing. There's the small green circle in the PFD indicating the proper spot, but it's to me quite difficult to follow it as it moves and reacts quicker than my chopper. Needs a lot more practice indeed, but it's really funny and very well done by its developers, thanks a lot to them!. I've installed the co-pilot mod, as I needed to have someone in charge in the cockpit because I'm not seeing any pilot in there (just me?, or it's that way?I don't know). If someone knows please let me know what I'm doing wrong with the pilot. I know when I used that my pedals didn't seem to have any effect at all, so presumably that input is ignored in that mode. I've just spent a bit of time watching some videos and scouting around for advice about control sensitivity, and so far haven't come up with anything solid. I've tried messing around with sensitivity settings but only ever seem to make things worse, whichever direction I change them. I have come to the conclusion that I just need to find somewhere suitable (and I found somewhere I like) and just practice and practice and practice. I suspect it's like a lot of those muscle-memory things, you just have to get to the point where it's unconscious. And I don't, unfortunately, think that means hitting the Bushmills. It really will be great though when it does finally become smooth (my control of it that is) - opens up all sorts of fun possibilities. I did a flight yesterday with the chopper and found myself a bit more comfortable at the landing procedure. I think it's key to plan your descent in advance and reduce both altitude and speed simultaneously to avoid overshooting the landing spot. It's also important to avoid sudden and strong joystick inputs. All that is easy to say, but difficult to do, and as you mention, requires practice and practice. Something strange to me is that I'm actually not seeing the pilot, so I had to install the co-pilot add-on to see someone inside the cockpit. Do you have the same?. I seem to remember seeing something on the Discord page saying that they'd removed the pilot/co-pilot deliberately, but I can't remember what the reason was. I had been told elsewhere also that if you change the default pilot/co-pilot avatar in the sim then you get an avatar back in the H135, but that didn't work for me (I may have done it wrong, I need to go back and read that again - on the flightsim.to comments for the 135). I'm sure there's all sorts of good stuff on the discord, but I can't get to grips with the format of things over there. Bit like the MSFS Forum - the format puts me off. Guess I'll go find that mod and try it out. Slowly getting more confident. Still don't think I'll be landing on an oil rig anytime soon though.
