April 18, 20215 yr I think that is correct. Upgrading to premium or deluxe and them cancelling gamepass would lose access to those upgrades as you have no base game, though potentially if you then turned around and bought the standard base game using the same Xbox account it would then start working again with the upgrades. Buying the full package standard-deluxe-premium is probably fine. Edited April 18, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
April 18, 20215 yr This game has been offered around the web at one time or other at discount at Simmarket, steam, Aerosoft. And when you purchase and register with MS store you own it, with or without Game Pass. Raymond Fry.

I did the same thing, started out with Gamepass, brought it with a discount, and then cancelled before it auto renewal. Thats it. If so I was given incorrect information during my phone conversation with Microsoft support. And that being incorrect is the only think that makes sense. If you need the subscription to use the title it would be completely pointless to buy the title even at discounted price. Well I think I saw something about you must own it to make a review of it. But that is hardly a reason to buy. Which version did you buy ? And I assume you could use it after your game pass subscription ended. My intention would be to get the premium version to get the steam gauges C172.

I made a new phone call to Microsoft and got confirmed that it has to be a misunderstanding. If you buy it you don't need the subscription to continue use it. Only question remaining should I uninstall the current instance and then reinstall the new purchased title ? Is it possible to choose installation folder ? It is very awkward how they have buried deep in the folders.

How you go about it and where it all ends up depends on whether it is a Steam or Windows install. On my Windows store install the game files ended up on D:\wpsystem though some items seem to still get stored in C:\users . You can also move your local cache and community folder, mine is under d:\games\fs2020 . Edited April 19, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick

You can also move your local cache and community folder, mine is under d:\games\fs2020 . When I installed it from the MS store the installer asked where I wanted to install it. I chose the new directory C:\MSFS . However, it is very easy to miss this step and just click the next step button . If you do the latter it is then it gets buried deep in the windows folders. I would suggest the following steps for the OP: 1. Make a folder where you want it installed e.g. C:\MSFS 2. Take a COPY of the existing MSFS 'Official' folder and paste it into the folder created in step 1. If you have community content that you also want to keep then also COPY over the 'Community' folder to the folder made in step 1. This process will skip the massive download that would otherwise be required in step 6. 3. Uninstall the existing install which will leave you with just the new folder and its contents. 4. Buy the version of the simulator you want on MS Store for the discounted price. 5. After several steps you will get to the installer window where it asks you what folder to install to - browse to select your new folder. 6. The game will install - will be quite quick as most is already 'installed' as the installer will check the contents of your folder before installing each file that they are up to date. If your prior install was up to date then you will really only install the premium content. Enjoy! CJ
