My review of this new MSFS jet. Check this out before you consider whether you want to drop the cash on this thing because it has quite a few issues. Potentially it could be nice, but it  needs some tweaks before it can justify its price.

Hi Chock,

thanks for the review. I find your videos very informative and fun to watch at the same time.

Is there any way how to support you so that you can at least somehow offset the cost of the addons?

Thanks!

I watched your video earlier- very helpful and much appreciated. This aircraft genuinely is only at alpha stage imho - no idea why it was released in this state in all honesty. If you are going to pay money for a small military jet, Indiafoxtecho or SimSkunkWorks are your current friends.

Actually, the freebie Alpha Jet is currently better than this payware Skyhawk. Shame really, with a bit more effort this one could be promising, the basics are all there, it just needs about a week's worth of refinement work on it and it'd be pretty word not allowed good.

For those who want the short version of the review:

Cons: Model has some sloppy errors which would be easy to sort out (ailerons and slats) some parts are not animated (spoilers/air brakes), undercarriage has no oleo compression at all, tail hook doesn't function, main altimeter in VC not working (although there is a working radar altimeter), many buttons and switches in the VC are animated but are not allied to functions in the sim, texturing both outside and inside is not great and there is only one exterior texture which is not especially well done although it is very high resolution, so repainters could have at the thing, manual (if you can call it that) is a small text file in notepad, which would be barely acceptable if it was a freebie, but for a payware product, the manual is a half-@rsed effort which should be a lo better than it is.

Pros: It flies pretty well and is easy to land and take off with. The roll rate is not as fast as it should be for an A4, but in most other respects it's fairly convincing in the air, so it's good for a bit of multiplayer dogfighting. The basic 3D model of a Skyhawk is pretty good and would look great with a decent repaint, the VC is a pretty good representation of an A4, not perfect, but for the most part it's more or less right although this too would benefit from a decent repaint. The sounds are reasonably okay, not great but they do the job although the touchdown sounds like your landing gear has collapsed. It's a small download and gets pretty good frame rates in the sim. It's fun to chuck it about at low level. Like the real thing could, it can be belly-landed on the drop tanks in the event of a landing gear malfunction, which is kind of fun to try.

As always thanks for taking the time to review, I'll be going with your recommendation on this one and give it a pass.  Should they improve on it though I'll have another look at it down the line.
