😆 That is what it looks the day before Thanksgiving, pre 2020.

I have here an issue that will not get a lot of support on this forum but it is an issue that needs airing: Contrail cirrus or persistent contrails.

We're all aware of the effects of squirting too much carbon into the atmosphere. The carbon has quite severe long term effects on the climate and weather.

.......but most folk are not aware of the immediate and sometimes quite drastic effect that airliner contrails have on our day to day weather.

I intially became aware observing it's effects over Lake Garda. Laying in the sun, on a lounger, looking at the sky and wondering were the hell that cirrus was coming from that had turned a clear bright blue day into a rather drab, watery "washed out sun" sort of day. Oh the irony...I'd flown to a beautiful sunny spot in Italy only to have the weather spoilt somewhat by my chosen method of transport.

Since then I've noticed it in all sorts of places where contrails form. Also maybe coincidentally, bright, clear blue sunshine days were much more prevenlent during the early pandemic.

Consequently that photo on the previous page gives me the creeps. See link below for more info.

That aside, decent contrails in a sim would be nice 🙂

It does, at least with vPilot

When I was flying earlier today in the sim an AI aircraft flew by complete with contrails, little things like this make a big difference to the sims immersion. Just to point out I wasn't flying in any network like Vatsim etc, just MSFS multiplayer.
