May 27, 20215 yr I am currently running MSFS on a 27" screen at 2560 x 1440 with a very satisfactory performance in MSFS. CPU is AMD 5600x, with 32Gb RAM. What can I expect in performance impact if I would upgrade to 34" ultrawide screen that has resolution of 3400 x 1440? I would prefer not to have to lower further the graphics setting in MSFS. Thank you for any input.

Thank you for any input. Well, I am running an AMD 3900X with 32gb memory @ 3600mhz and an 2080Ti at 3440 x 1440 and for the most part performance is really good (generally quite high settings). Don't know how the 2080Ti stacks against the 6800xt though... EDIT: And the sim is sitting on its own NVME disk. So you're looking at about 30% more demanding with the new monitor. However a 5600x + 6800XT should be able to run MSFS at around ultra settings. I don't think you'd have to drop the visuals. I use a 2080ti on a 3800 x 1600 monitor with most stuff on ultra and it's totally smooth but I don't fly heavies into big, busy airports so could be an issue there maybe. Your 6800XT is a fair bit more powerful than a 2080ti so should handle 3440 x 1440 well in all scenarios.
