I am thinking of purchasing Fenix A32x, but have rather medium PC specs. PMDG 737 is running satisfactory on my PC, and I wonder if Fenix is currently on same level compared to PMDG 737 regarding performance? I understood that initially it was more demanding than PMDG, but I hope last versions have been optimized. My PC has AMD 5800x3D CPU and AMD RX 6800 XT GPU, as well as 32 GB RAM. Thanks.

Which should I go for to run MSFS in 4k? The CPU they will run with is AMD 5800x3D and 32G of RAM. I currently run Radeon 6800xt and find that I am always GPU limited. I usually run PMDG 737 and FBW Airbus. I think I am quite modest with settings as I run LOD 70, and rest is medium, with clouds set to high. No AI traffic, low trees, low waves, etc It grinds to stutterfest even without Vatsim traffic, while with Vatsim it is barely acceptable. Thank you for all advise.

How is the performance compared to PMDG 737?

Is it possible to select lower panel res for VC and turn off first officers displays as in 737NGX? Tried to fins it in ops center but I see it only for 737. I need this as I get occasional stutters, especially when looking towards center console and FO side. This is further exaggerated when flying during dusk transition. Oh and I damaged the new bird. Are you perhaps using OpusFSX DHM? This might be the reason that you see the plan moving about. However, I am yet to see it bounce about, the plane itself I mean. I am using FSGRW, and all other planes are being bounced around except for Q400. Tried it also with AS 2012. Or is there some setting that I am missing?

It does not respond to gusts as it should IMHO. For example, I setup an situation with winds of 10kt with gusts up to 50. I did purposefully exaggerate the gusts. The Q400 basically was interpolating slowly with liek 0,5kt/sec the gusts. What I mean is: FSX shows stable 10kt, Q400 shows also 10kt on MFD FSX gusts up to 30kt, Q400 shows like 12kt on MFD FSX is now up to 50kt, Q400 shows only perhaps 15kt on MFD FSX is now back to 10kt, Q400 is at 13kt In other words, due to slow interpolation, there are actually no real gusts and Q400 never manages to catch up to gusts completely. I also posted this on MJC forums with screenshots attached. It also does not react to turbulence. If that is also due to the above, or slew, I have no clue. They say they are looking into it. It DOES react to averaged wind, i.e. you do have to crab if you get crosswind. I have also parked it until the possible patch. Aleks

Hi Stephen, Is there any way to make Opus generated turbulence effect the plane itself? Reason why I ask is that I tried Opus and saw only "head" movement due to turbulence but no effect on plane (ASI, VSI, attitude, etc.). Perhaps I was doing something wrong. Aleks

By googling the 777FHB and opening the corresponding pdf (not linking here as they are property of the company) it seems there is a difference between V1 and Vr for flaps 5. Weight, V1, Vr, V2 170, 111, 122, 135 230, 139, 146, 155 300, 163, 170, 175 Not sure though if such difference is enough to avoid overlapping V1 and Vr though, as I have no clue on acceleration of B777 Aleks

Not sure if it is specifics for Coolsky DC-9, but I got about 25% less FPS with it than with PMDG NGX (24-25 vs 30), which causes stutters. Aleks

Personally, I could not understand the way turbulence works in Opus so I returned it. It seemed to me that the only way to get turbulence is by activating DHM, however that "faked" turbulence had no impact on aircraft whatsoever. Might be that it is user error but I could not get the "real" turbulence with Opus. In AS2012, I just fired it up and everything was set with nice turb in gusty winds, cumulus clouds, etc. without the need to setup cameras. As said, might be user error!
