Historic weather - finally considered

Featured Replies

The only difference between real time weather and historic weather is the time stamp on the METAR. This ought to be easy to incorporate into the sim. The only thing really missing is something to build the query from the time and date that we selected for our flight and send it to Meteoblue. I don't get making a big production out of it.

Meteoblue METAR is only one component of the entire weather system, and certainly not the leading information input.  This goes well beyond just METAR.  I suspect that when all is said and done, what we will have is what third parties provide right now (metar based only) with all the inherent issues (sudden transitions, aloft issues, ect) coupled with what you are proposing - simple historic metar data pull.

They should just get Damian from HiFi to drop by and show them how to do it. Problem solved.

I'm sure they've already figured it out!

Asobo really needs to bring back the custom WX File for creating weather at different stations where you fly towards your destination, like different types of clouds, rain snow or a mixture of it and bringing back the visibility slider too. This is what i've been requesting the most in the Flight Sim fourms but with very little votes.
