I think I may have resolved it.

I deleted all assignments for all of my controllers - the Throttle, Joystick and pedals.

I just went back through them all and found that the controllers had all had actions assigned to them - how that happens I am not sure.

Anyway, I went through them again and deleted everything, and found the "jumping" was no longer occurring. So I assigned only trim up/down to my joystick and it seems to work properly now.

Why things were reassigned to other controllers I don't know as I am sure I deleted everything. I also have a blank key profile saved so I can always load an empty key assignment for troubleshooting.

Hopefully that has resolved it. Thanks for your help as you help users so often - it is apprecated.

Just to be clear, all default assignments deleted means you went through *every* listed controller in the P3D Controls menu and deleted all the axis/button assignments, not just the assignments for the stick/yoke, yes?

You might try downloading DIView from the Leo Bodnar website and look at all your devices to see if something's making an uncommanded input.

Any other input devices, e.g. TrackIR, that could be sending key commands?

Affirmative. Deleted every one for each controller. No TrackIR or other devices - I'm pretty basic with my installation 😁
