June 17, 20214 yr The Alps: Germany-Austria-Switzerland – Excursion 1 The Alps are the highest and most extensive mountain range system that lies entirely in Europe, stretching approximately 1,200 km (750 mi) across eight Alpine countries (from west to east): France, Switzerland, Monaco, Italy, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, and Slovenia. There is a lot to cover in these scenic areas and will try to travel much of the Alps in a series of excursions: this being the initial voyage into the Alps. Pictured: Overlooking Locarno from Monte Tamaro Summit We are departing Friedrichshafen (EDNY) Airport in Germany and we’ll end this first Alps excursion in Lugano, Switzerland making seven stops along the way: Airports: (Quick Route Airports😞 EDNY EDTZ LSZR LOIH LSZE LSPM LSML LSZL LSZA Departing: Friedrichshafen (EDNY) (Germany), Konstanz (EDTZ) (Germany St. Gallen-Altenrhein (LSZR) (Switzerland) Dornbirn (LOIH) (Austria) Bad Ragaz (LSZE) (Switzerland) Ambri (LSPM) (Switzerland) Lodrino Air Base (LSML) (Switzerland) Locarno (LSZL) (Switzerland) Destination: Lugano (LSZA) (Switzerland) Documentation: The flight plan and full itinerary can be found (HERE). June 17, 20214 yr Yodel eh dee ohhhh. 😃 Brilliant! The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
June 18, 20214 yr Author If you find that the photogramettry scenery is a wee bit gaggy, (depending on your system), just turn if off or yank it out!. lol

June 23, 20214 yr Author Thanks Ron. Whew, I thought I took a wrong turn..(I don't usually go up and over as you know but my style is rather finding a way through the terrain at low level.. but was high today only to try to highlight some somewhat interesting Swiss spots.. The next one, when ever that might be (in the fall I guess), will more resemble my regular flight style: that being way down low in the valleys and river levels-carving through the terrain like it was a race or dogfight! lol. (Maybe in a P149 in a suitable Swiss cheese livery). Edited June 24, 20214 yr by nbrich1
June 24, 20214 yr That was a great flight, I don't care what some of those other guys said. The Piper Arrow IV Turbo coupled with that scenery, I was in awe several times. It was a great opportunity to use the equipment you have. KBJC AMD 3900 / RTX 2060 Pro
