Rudder problem

Featured Replies

Hi

nee to the group

bern flying the mfsm2020 with no problems since last October

However since March this year the rudder moves over to the left on many planes is moving to the left shortly after takeoff we have tried a new joystick and checked calibration  with no success

Difficult to land too will not line up on approach having to constantly twist the joystick to keep in line

any suggestions

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

first thing to do is always ckeck if there are maybe double assignments.

best is to search for rudder in the settings, also maybe you have more peripherals attached, a xbox controller with a bad zero

zone can cause it too.

You have this issue in any wind scenario ? Including no wind ?

What aircraft ? Some prop driven aircraft would naturally drift to the left at take off specially if you force the aircraft to leave the ground at too low a speed.

Besides a possible double assignment, one cause could also be that the rudder trim (if the aircraft has one) is  not set as it should. Check where it is. In the middle, to the left, to the right ?

Hiya New Fly!

All good sensible advice from the guys above...

Also, you could try dropping this little tool into your community folder (even just temporarily) to check if you are getting any spurious control inputs.  Its a good little tool for tracing things like this.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

@bobcat999,

Thank you so much for sharing the info about this tool. IMHO it is an excellent tool that can help in adjusting controls inputs to perfection. I was able adjust all the inputs to butter smooth response experience.

I don't know who's this guy but deserves all the credit.

No problem Vlad!

Please feel free to sign-up over at flightsim.to and give feedback and praise to the authors of these tools if you feel like it.
They do it all for free, and Flightsim.to is a brilliant site just for MSFS.  You will find many other great free tools, repaints, and scenery over there.

On another note, it is nice to see so many new users of MSFS posting here at Avsim.
