Doing my nornal "Run as administrator" to start the game this morning and Microsoft Store page opens - Gaming services- this product is installed message

Tried with the same result for last 30 minutes just unable to open the flight sim. Never happened before in the last 9 months

No changes to PC since last running the flight sim 2 days ago  purchased from microsoft store originally

Any help much appreciated

 

Did you reboot the computer?  Sometimes that fixes it.

Download Microsoft.GamingServices_2.53.28001.0_neutral___8wekyb3d8bbwe.AppxBundle
Right click on it and select install

Restart PC.

# IMPORTANT
After that In windows search bar type notepad
Right click on it and select run as administrator
Copy the command below and paste into NOTEPAD

	Add-AppxPackage -register "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.GamingServices_2.53.28001.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\AppxManifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode
	

Run powershell as administrator
Copy command from notepad and PASTE INTO POWERSHELL // right click to paste into powershell

press enter

Restart PC.

Same problem, can I just do a reinstall if so how?

Update system, you mean win 10?

How do you reinstall gaming services ? 

No PC knowledge.

Update windows 10 - also check optional updates.

Click and REVEAL HIDDEN CONTENTS

or go to system settings > apps

search > gaming services

select gaming services and click advanced options

scroll down and click > reset

Thanks for trying to help, Win update done, reset gaming app in system, downloaded gaming service file

tried to install with;                App installation failed with error message: error 0x80073D26: While processing the request, the system failed to register the windows.service extension due to the following error: The package installation failed because a different version of the service is installed. Try installing a newer version of the package.

Had a look in the system app for gaming services, nothing in there.  any other ideas pls.

 

also when I tried to run game and the microsoft store comes up instead of game, it has an install button and that fails as well with - something unexpected happened - code: 0x80073D26

I had exact the same issue except that error code. For me this instructions helped to solve the problem. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/msfs-not-loading-error-code-0x80073d26-acodring-to-windows-store-update/405814/24

Try to reinstall xbox live when possible.

The topic comes up every two days or so. Here's one possible solution (it's contained in the link @737_800 provided, but as that thread seems a bit convoluted, I thought I point to the seemingly most succesful solution)

In addition to Chock's proposal after reboot it could be necessary to

go to your Windows Store → 3-dot-menu → Downloads and Updates → Check updates

Gaming Services should install now without issue.
