Iceland – Part 1

Iceland – Part 1

The  tour starts at Keflavik International Airport and proceeds southward across the Reykjanes Peninsula to the fishing port of Grindavik, then turns towards Iceland’s newest tourist destination: the Fagradalsfjall Volcano.  Continuing on we fly to Reykjavik and land at the capital city’s domestic airport.  We follow  the Golden Circle tourist route east to Thingviller, Geysir, and Gullfoss, then turn back to the west with several landings before heading northeast to Blönduós, and  Sauðárkrókur.  The final portion of the route features the impressive scenery of the Tröllaskagi Peninsula with a landing at Siglufjordur before heading to the final destination Akureyri.

Pilots Guide and Flightplan: HERE

Aircraft: The Cessna 208 Caravan is my choice for this tour.  Iwill be flying it in an appropriate Loftleiðir Icelandic livery.

Here are three more "regional" liveries:

Air Greenland (national airline), BusyBee (historic Norwegian charter, 1966-1992), RÚV (Icelandic National Broadcasting Service). All fictional.

You can download a one-stop package of these three liveries as well as four liveries that Jeff suggested (Loftleiðir Icelandic, Icelandair, Air Iceland Connect, and Icelandic Coast Guard) by clicking here. These seven are for the standard C208B Caravan.

I shall fly the (fictional) RÚV livery.

Jeff. Lovely intimate photographs that match your narrative. And exciting "you-are-there" films of Gullfoss and, especially, the roaring live volcanic eruption at Geldingadalir. And I never want to meet a man so strong that he swims five miles through the sea for a hot bath. Great stuff.

Briefly, the authors of the Community Improvement Mod for the Asobo C208B released an update in mid-June. They adapt to Asobo's core turboprop developments while maintaining their realism tweaks. You probably have this already. If not, you can download the current C208 Improvement Mod Version 2106.2 here.

I read through the readme, the download blurb and the Q&A entries and didn't understand a word of what to do with the wt-g1000-fix. I ended up just giving it it's own slot in the CF.

The file (CommonPFD_MFD.js) in the fix folder replaces the one in the Working Title G1000 mod.  In my system it goes here:

G:\MSFS Addons\Aircraft Mods\workingtitle-g1000\html_ui\WorkingTitle\Pages\VCockpit\Instruments\NavSystems\Shared

Does it stay in it's containing folder or put in 'Shared' butt naked?
