July 10, 20214 yr I purchased from Steam. And a half dozen other sims from Steam over last few years. Experience was great. Easy to understand the interface, how to do things. I find Microsoft store harder to find things. Both MS store and steam give the same performance in the sim. Go to Oookla (https://www.speedtest.net/ ) and find how fast your internet is. If it is 50 Mbps or faster then the game and updates will be reasonably fast to download. Downloading will work with slower speeds but then it might take hours instead of minutes. Some addons are only available from the MSFS Marketplace. Some are only sold elsewhere but not in the MSFS marketplace. Others are sold both places. As far as I know none of the addons are sold on the Steam store. Addon planes purchased from the MS marketplace have their files encoded, which means you cannot edit them in notepad. Which means you can't change things on the plane that otherwise you could change. But the marketplace does organize all that you bought in one place and keeps the record of it in order. On the whole, I would buy in the marketplace for the convenience of one place to go retrieve an airport or plane or scenery that you bought and lost off your disc or messed up the files on it. Because you will know right where you bought it and won't need a serial number to prove you own it. Get a PC computer files search utility, some are free, some are payware. All of them are lightyears faster and better organized than Windows search. You need to find files sometimes, no need to wait more than 10 seconds to jump to a file hiding deep in the folder system somewhere. Everybody likes different control commands installed on different buttons and hats and axis on their controller. I think its a poor idea to accept the default assignments as the best. Change them around until you are satisfied. You should seldom have to touch the keyboard during a flight. But you will always need a good mouse. Go to google maps and find your gps coordinates for your own house by entering your street address, and paste them into the search bar in the Welcome screen of flight simulator. And then select it as Departure. Your flight will start directly over your house. Pause the sim and use the drone to fly down from the plane to your front yard. Everybody should do this at least once :). 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. July 14, 20214 yr Author Anyone to help? I am at MS store. Get lost because after payment I don't know what I will need to do... Where will be the installer, how to run it, and so on...
July 15, 20214 yr Your screen shot shows STEAM store. You can buy flightsimulator right there on Steam. When you install MS Flightsimulator from Steam, then start flightsimulator. (Click mouse on flightsimulator. exe). When flightsimulator screen opens you will see the Marketplace in flightsimulator window. Up on the top. You can buy add-ons inside MSFS at the Marketplace tab. Cannot buy them inside Steam. Most of Orbyx products are NOT in the MS marketplace tab. You can buy them at Orbyxdirect.com. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
