July 14, 20214 yr I know I must be missing the obvious but does any know where the parking brake is in the Extra 330? FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
July 14, 20214 yr it apparently doesn't have one. You have to press the key command for the brake release which i think is "ctrl ." | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. There's always a sunset happening somewhere in the world that somebody is enjoying.
July 14, 20214 yr As far as I know, the 330 does not have a parking brake. Might want to try the keyboard shortcut (default) CTRL -> NumPad DEL (probably need NumLock on). Or if you have the parking brake set to a controller button, that should do it. If you're feeling really adventurous you could edit the systems.cfg file for the plane and change "parking_brake = 1" to "parking_brake = 0". (Have not tried that myself, so no idea if it would actually work). Make a backup of the file first. ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.

I thought I missed something as all default FS aircraft have the basics for things like this. It's interesting the Extra is the exception. July 14, 20214 yr Apparently, it is; Quote Underneath front left seat corner. Open checklist and hit the eye on parking brake. Thanks, how did you move the camera to see it? The parking brake is not mentioned in the checklist. So from what I found it was CTRL + C i think on keyboard mouse. If you're using mouse only then my guess (could be wrong but wanted to try to help) would be middle mouse button? And controller / gamepad would be Y button. Otherwise what I did at first was just hunt around in the cockpit till I found the release and clicked on it hahaha borrowed from another forum. It would appear to be impossible to see, even if it is modelled there. The better solution is to use a keyboard key or other controller binding to set and release the parking brake, then there is no need to worry about where it might be. It is my understanding that the full size Extra 330 does not have a parking brake. So, MS/Asobo are modelling this aircraft faithfully in that respect. 😉 They probably left the parking brake system activated due to not being able to model/animate wheel chocks at this time. And probably to prevent "newbies" from starting the engine without applying the brakes and having the aircraft start moving on its own. That's my speculation anyway. ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.

I found those exact instructions with a Google search which proved to be 'bogus'. Looks like there's no break release switch like others have stated above in this thread. The checklist in FS doesn't reference a parking brake either. July 14, 20214 yr It does have a parking brake in the simulator though. Perhaps all of the developers thought that there was little point in modelling something that cannot be seen.

Did what I described above and what do you know, no more parking brake. However, it also nerfed the throttle on my CH Yoke (old one). Also, F4 no longer worked. I could use F3 to increase the throttle, but as soon as I touched the throttle on the yoke, it just went back to idle. Since I don't really fly this plane, I copied my backup file back and continued on with my life. As always, YMMV. ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.
