July 28, 20214 yr Now that I have the rudders back does any one know how to get the trim wheel to not move up and down with no incremental motions? Using the Honeycomb Alpha. Even the mouse cant get smooth trim wheel movement. Never happened before the up date any ideas?
July 29, 20214 yr I had issues with the Saitek Trim Wheel as well. I reset sensitivity settings to default and then back to what I had before (make notes) which worked (at least in the same session). I had to reassign rudder, too. Some control settings seem to have been modified by the update. The trim wheel on the Bravo works great, it is easy to be very fine in your control. The Alpha using yoke button trim works well but much faster, like in a real plane. The thing to remember about trimming is it trims the plane to a speed, not to fly level. So if you change trim it takes a while for the effect to take place. The best way to use trim is to hand fly holding both speed and level (or ascent/descent) then trim away the force you have to hold the yoke or stick. The Alpha mimics this really well in my opinion. Just trying to use trim to keep level, you will end up chasing altitude and speed all day in a plane. Some planes react fast others really slow, this is what flying is all about. The big cheat in a real plane or in the sim is to flick on the AP and altitude hold set power and wait a bit, than turn off the AP and your plane will be trimmed for level flight. This can be done for VS up/dn as well, but that is usually not necessary, just change power.
