July 31, 20214 yr The cheapest cards are the Nvidia OEM cards, but in the US they are sold only at Best Buy the last time I checked. EVGA has an online customer queue, you can get in line for any card and it's first come, first served. They send you a notification, and you have either 24 or 48 hours to purchase. If you don't, they move on to the next person on the list. EVGA also has excellent RMA service, at least in the USA where I am. One benefit of EVGA is that they honor a card's warranty period even if you are not the original purchaser, which increases resale value on the used market when you sell. EVGA also has their "Step-Up" program, where you can "trade in" your current generation card for a new generation card (within a specific length of time). The MicroCenter near me has been having AMD or Nvidia cards on the shelf most of the time, for the last few months. They aren't scalped, but they are aftermarket cards so the prices aren't anything like the Nvidia OEM cards. But like you said, try finding an OEM card. https://www.microcenter.com/search/search_results.aspx?N=4294966937&NTK=all&sortby=pricehigh&storeid=061 Good luck whatever you do, but I suggest getting in the EVGA queue in the mean time so you have an option. Sign up for several skus. Edit: One other thing to look at is Discord stock trackers, or Youtube stock trackers. If you go that route, have your passwords to the common sights ready, or be logged in ahead of time. Have your payment info ready, the affordable cards fly fast. Edit: Over the years I've purchased a lot of hardware from B and H Photo in NYC. They are reputable, they don't have stock, but they do notify and they aren't scalpers. Just one more place to watch, imo. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/browse/nvidia-graphic-cards/ci/44264 Newegg, I would never purchase from Newegg. The reason being, their website is not only a Newegg storefront, but also an "online marketplace". It fills me with rage that scalpers buy cards from Newegg with bots faster than you can, then use Newegg's own site to list them and sell them back to Newegg's customers at double the price scalps. I was a loyal egg customer for 15 years, but have nothing but hate for their business practices now. Sites like Amazon do the same thing. Hate the predatory nature of Newegg and Amazon (and their ilk) profiting twice off each high demand product, by screwing their own customers. Edited July 31, 20214 yr by Waldo Pepper
