Bernd Diehl

Featured Replies

Is anybody else following the work that Bernd Diehl is doing? I saw him on MSFS Developers Facebook page.

He's created several WWII airfields in the Solomon Is. (I believe) along with several variants of flyable A6m5 Zero, and two aircraft carriers and a sea plane tender. Great stuff.

I can't find a link to purchase though. Does anybody know?

Here's one of his videos:

Looks like a nice pack, and the price is right. Thanks.

Here is his /reddit page where he posts every 3 or 4 days. His bases and zero scenery and planes keep getting better. Not to mention his Japanese carriers to land on.

The A2A Zero was my favorite warbird in FS2004.

Even though MSFS has no arrester hooks in the sim, Bernd has put tailhooks in the planes flight_model.cfg file, so it lands as if there were hooks.

When published/released, I image we can then look at that .cfg file he made for the zero, and then we will learn how to add tailhooks to other planes. As long as their .cfg files are not encoded (i.e. not purchased in the Marketplace).

If your into Mercedes, he's written many well received books/manuals for the marque.

Look him up on Amazon.

In another of his videos we see him land a differently configured Zero on a carrier, and the plane behaves very much as if there were cables on deck. Looks realistic. He said this is possible because of how he made the flight model.
