Yellow taxiway light posts

Featured Replies

Are your taxiway light posts all yellow or are they yellow with a blue light cap on top? Mine are the former but used to be the latter.

I noticed that also.  Something got borked in the last update.

Thanks Jeff. I see blue “caps” without yellow posts on the sides of taxiways in the distance, far down the taxiway, that are on the ground. As I get closer they become yellow posts.

Oh,I just see yellow poles then they change a little bit to yellow poles with blue caps.  I wonder iif it has to do with the LOD thing.

Yeah, its funky. I think blue caps on the ground in the distance are actually floating because the yellow post is not visible. As I get closer, sometimes I see the blue cap with its yellow post. Then when I get even closer, i see just the yellow post.

Same here. In the distance I only see the blue lights (no posts). As I get closer, the blue light disappears and I see just a yellow post. A few feet away from a taxi light I see a yellow post with an angular blue cap (no blue light). Once I'm a couple of feet away, it looks like a very realistic taxi light with yellow post, rounded blue lens cap, but no light.

On the plus side, when looking out the side windows inside the cockpit or in external camera viewing the aircraft from the side, the significant stutters I used to see are gone. Just wish I could get BOTH realistic taxi lights AND stutter-free graphics (I know I'm asking a lot! 🙂

Yeah, in side view, sometimes I see the blue cap suddenly appear on the yellow post when I am really close to the post (around 10 feet or so).

Part of their LOD brutality with the sim update. However I don't see what's so taxing about, erm, keeping the correct colour of the top bit beyond 2-3 metres.

I truly believe my machine can handle it. I really mean that.

Interestingly, my runway lights behave better. Yellow posts with lights on top that are visible for a fair amount of distance ahead.
