Disable Camera Transitions when Changing Views?

Featured Replies

With a multiple custom view setup, it is bugging that when changing (or transitioning from view to view), the camera "travels" from one view to the other instead of instantly snapping to a new view.

For instance, if I am switching from a cockpit camera to a window (i.e. overwing for example) camera, it takes it through the whole plane before settling into the new view.

Is someone aware of a way to instantly switch to the new view? I've played around with the camera.cfg with no luck - any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I don't like this too.

In X-Plane, there is a free addon called X-Camera where you can select this type of camera transition on or off.  I haven't been able to find anything in MSFS's settings for it, so looks like we're stuck with it.

At the correct location?

Yes, both the general cameras.cfg as well as plane-specific ones which include the saved views. There is a "Transition=" value in there, which is probably inherited from FSX. As far as I played with it, this has no in-game effect.

Happy to learn more about this and find a solution!

Totally agree, we really need a way to disable the transitions. It ruins the immersion for me when the camera travels through the body of the plane like that when switching views. Quite annoying.
