August 21, 20214 yr I have voice control enabled. I can initiate command using voice but after a few commands, it stops responding. I had to shutdown and restart FS2Crew for it to work again. Then same thing happens after a few voice commands.
August 21, 20214 yr Hi, If the voice command stops responding, try clicking and holding the PTT button and saying the command again. I've had this issue and it then resumes hearing the voice commands. Steve
August 21, 20214 yr Commercial Member Indeed, make sure you're holding down the PTT key when speaking. You can also use a 'left mouse button' hold over the PTT (microphone) icon on the FS2Crew panel to achieve the same result. Remember the PTT key is like a transmit key - it's push to hold. You can also use "open mic mode", but PTT is better in my view. Edited August 21, 20214 yr by byork B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord

August 21, 20214 yr Commercial Member The MSFS panel may not have been in focus. Ensure the keyboard icon on the FS2Crew panel is not X'd out in red. If you see the red x-mark over the keyboard icon, it means FS2Crew cannot detect hotkeys because the FS2Crew window is in focus (not MSFS), so if you press the PTT hotkey, it won't be detected. This is why some uses find it easier just to use the left mouse button and click and hold the Microphone icon. When you do it that way, you don't need to worry about the focus issue. B. August 22, 20214 yr Author Thanks. I have the mic highlighted in red while speaking . Found that voice control is not very reliable. I'm now back to Button Control interface method which works more reliably.
August 22, 20214 yr Commercial Member Voice control generally doesn't just drop out of the blue. Are you sure there's no problem with your mic? You're not using a wireless mic are you? Sometimes they can be prone to dropping. Edited August 22, 20214 yr by byork B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord

I initially thought it was a conflict with the A32NX that was causing some kind of bug as I was having the same issue. Turns out it was the focus. It was confusing at first but makes sense now. August 23, 20214 yr Commercial Member Glad you figured it out. Yes, if the keyboard icon has the Red X mark, the hotkeys will not work because they cannot be detected. We're reading the hotkeys via Simconnect, and for that to work, MSFS must be in focus for obvious reasons. Other way is just to use your left mouse and hold the mic icon on the FS2Crew panel. That avoids any hotkey focus issue. For V1.1, we're going to see if we can read hotkeys when MSFS is not in focus... it may be possible... Edited August 23, 20214 yr by byork B.
