September 10, 20214 yr Is there any reason why we shoudn't set a negative AVX offset in the BIOS? Could that cause any stability or performance issues with MSFS?
September 10, 20214 yr Do we know if MSFS uses AVX/AVX512 ? - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
September 10, 20214 yr I managed to get my overclock stable without AVX offset, but I remember that once I set an offset the cpu clock was reduced accordingly while running MSFS - so i assume MSFS uses some AVX. However I prefer to have a solid all-core-one-clock setup, as most of the more demanding applications use AVX, like video and photo editing programs, and I see no point in having a theoretically higher CPU clock only to have it reduced when it is needed most. But it depends a bit on your day-to-day usage I guess. Asus ROG STRIX X870-E Gaming; Ryzen9 9950X3D; RX9070XT; 96GB RAM; 4GB/2GB M.2 SSD; 8GB HDD; LG 45GX90SA-B
