Stuck at "Checking for Updates"

Featured Replies

I am trying to install MSFS (Windows store version) onto my 2nd computer. It got to about 30GB out of 123GB and the download seem to have froze. So I quit MSFS and restarted the computer and launched it again, and now it's stuck at the Checking for Updates screen. Any ideas on what the issue could be?

It seems to be working now. It had a pop up screen saying something about being signed out of my xbox account and that my package are out of date, sign in again to whatever. But I am already signed in. Anyways, after constantly reloading the sim, it's finally resuming the install again. now it says 100 GB total instead of 123 GB. I'm hoping it resumed from where it left off and not redownload the entire game all over again.

I found that my problem was the UserCfg file in C:/users/*username*/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft Flight Simulator. I replaced it with an earlier one and everything's fine now.
