Odd things with WT G1000 NXi...

Recommended Posts

The altitude set is at 99000 and stays there. I can't change it.

I can't click on CDI to change my indicator to GPS.

this is the latest .6 from the store.

Anyone else?

I'm about ready to go back to steam gauges.

I am not having those problems with the latest G1000NXi, so likely the problem is with something on your system.

When this happens, can you successfully click on other things in the VC, such as to hide the yoke, when this happens?

Did you remember to remove all G1000 mods from the Community folder?

And which a/c does this happen with ( I'll give it a try if I haven't already) , and have you tried more than one a/c with the G1000NXi?

This is a wrinkle with how the NXi communicates with MSFS... On the NXi itself, the altitude is set correctly.

WT is aware and a fix will come with SU6.

Which aircraft are you seeing this in?

A strange 'altitude thing' I have noticed is that when the a/c is first loaded, the 'target' altitude at the top of the altitude tape is frequently a negative number. I would think a starting target altitude equal to the field altitude would be more appropriate.

It happened in the c172

and the c208 with mod.

yes, I can hide yoke and other things.

It seems very fickle. I loaded up the 208 and there was no engine so I loaded the 172 and that was ok and then I loaded the 208 and I had engine data again but in either case no altitude control or CDI to GPS mode.

Those a/c seem to work OK for me.  Might be worth a try to uninstall and then reinstall the G1000NXi through your Content Manager.

I have flown with the default Bonanza and with the Robt Young Turbo Bonanza and have not witnessed these reported issues.  Not flying again until Wednesday.

An odd thing:

On the map when you changed the heading you could see a dotted line move around.

I'm not seeing the dotted line in the latest version.

Strange... I do..

Hi look here WT G1000 NXI does not work with LOGITECH PANEL - Page 3 - Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) - The AVSIM Community

This will solve your problem.

yes, the blue line moves.

I don't have that panel but I think I'll uninstall it for now and take the default G1000 for now until they (WT) can get the NXi to work.

Then again an uninstall reboot reinstall may do the trick as well.

OK, I un-installed it and all was good

then I re-installed it and everything was like before - problems

so for now I'm flying with the default/original G1000 until WT can get a non beta release or next update.

Brian, I have no idea what you are running into here..  The NXi is such an improvement over the original that I would not go back..  Do you have any previous G1000 mods in your Community folder?

Send me a PM with details if you want to try some troubleshooting.. 😉

I agree.  I find myself flying G1000 equipped planes almost all the time now due to the NXi improvements.  I can't wait until these WT upgrades find their way into the other default nav systems, and more importantly, I can't wait until WT can find the time to tackle the default world map flight planner.  Until then, approaches and navigation in the NXi are a joy.
