I would like to do some helicopter practice, can you guys please list some good helipads to take off from with scenic views? How do you find helipads, do they have an ICAO code?

Some creators make heliports that are airports you can start from like any other, others will just be a solid surface to land on. You'll probably need to check each description.

Search at flightsim.to for Helipads - meanwhile you will find a great collection. IRL / ENG / AUT / GER / FRA / US - (LA!) / HongKong ....

Helipads with ICAO code are normally spawnable (registered as airports. Others only for land/TO - you will not find them on the world map, sometimes as POI's. Best solution - in LNMap eg. store the coordinates.

Thanks for the suggestions. I want to be able to spawn at helipads cold & dark, do most airports have helipads? Sorry I'm a complete amateur when it comes to helicopters.

You can spawn cold&dark at any airport in MSFS if you want, but most of them don't have helipad(s). For a beginner the best solution.

I have installed HelipadsApp from HongKong. Together with the CarrierMod (Aircraft Carrier) and the HongKong Scenery I have about 100 Helipads in this region within 50 NM, some of them really challanging, esp at night. They are shown as POI's, but I switched it off and use an seperate map with the coordinates from all stored.

EG39. EGHK is its actual ICAO in real life, but the sim allocated it to some farm strip.
