Dipping my feet into an upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I’m slowly starting to dip my feet into a new upgrade and doing some searching/research. In my limited knowledge of computer systems, I’m wondering what anyones general thought is on this system.. (note I have a budget to follow, so I need to give and take), also, only sim I use is msfs.

Intel i7 10700F - GeForce RTX 3060 - 16GB DDR4 3000MHz - 1TB Intel M.2 NVMe SSD - EVGA XR1 Capture Device

This is a pre-built system.
Id probably upgrade the ram on it.
My current system is in my sig as an fyi.
thanks

Yes. 32GB.  Focus on cooling.  Select a case that provides for enough airflow.  And consider accessory cooling for the CPU.  Find a motherboard with a high speed data connection for convenience when making backups.  eSata or USB-C 3.1.

Hope you can find an RTX 3 series video card, 8 GB minimum. One built with three fans, not two, unless it has two fans and liquid cooling.  Pay attention to size -> length if three fans, width if it has liquid cooling.
