September 30, 20214 yr Pre- Binned CPU store closing. Silicon Lottery Store For PreBinned CPUs shuts Down (guru3d.com) Raymond Fry.
September 30, 20214 yr Sadly, I think their time has passed. When CPU build quality varied significantly and they could sort the best from the rest, they provided an expensive, but guaranteed path to a successful over clocking. The CPU crop of today is either much more consistent or simply cannot be given a significant over clock. I was an over clocker, found it to be an interesting challenge. I also found it has the potential to create a very fast, but sometimes less than stable computer. My current rig is a pre-built and was made with components that do not allow any over clocking. It is what it is and so far, it has been quite adequate in terms of FSX performance. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

When 12th gen Intel arrives it might not be the case though I'm thinking. Given that it will be a new architecture and new architectures have less consistent yields.
