Pre-Binned CPU`s.

Sadly, I think their time has passed.  When CPU build quality varied significantly and they could sort the best from the rest, they provided an expensive, but guaranteed path to a successful over clocking.  The CPU crop of today is either much more consistent or simply cannot be given a significant over clock.  I was an over clocker, found it to be an interesting challenge.  I also found it has the potential to create a very fast, but sometimes less than stable computer.  My current rig is a pre-built and was made with components that do not allow any over clocking.  It is what it is and so far, it has been quite adequate in terms of FSX performance.

I agree. When 12th gen Intel arrives it might not be the case though I'm thinking. Given that it will be a new architecture and new architectures have less consistent yields.

You may be correct, time will tell.
