Umberto is often very blunt and dry in his answers, he's been like this for years and seems it's just his personality. We as humans have to adjust to this, I deal with the clients on daily basis and have to adjust to their personalities all the time.

Known Colin for more than 10 years (yikes, I'm aging) now and blunt and direct is his usual tone. No malice or arrogance intended, the only thing that raises his hackles is misinformation and direct personal attacks, as well as useless criticisms (eg "its a broke piece of scheiss" vs "XYZ should be doing ABC not DEF").

I think it was all taken out of proportion and it's the typical internet domino effect.

An off-the-cuff reply quickly morphs into a gigantic 'net monster of responses.  I agree that their response is not how many of us would respond, but at the same time, i think people need to understand the limitations of the internet in conveying information and adjust the thickness of skin appropriately.
