November 1, 20214 yr I've just started having issue/issues where I can't launch the sim. I get taken to the MS Store and nothing is working or clickable. Anyone seen this and have a suggestion? This started a day or two ago when I was trying to run some other Xbox live game. I didn't realize until now that the sim was borked too. November 1, 20214 yr It might (I stress might) be related to the issue I had with Gaming Services as I raised in this thread. Certainly unlikely to do harm repairing Windows using the Media Creation tool available here. Download the tool by clicking on the download button under "Create Windows 10 installation media" and follow the instructions, being sure to leave the options for saving apps and data selected, otherwise you'll essentially have a clean install of Windows! Of course, back up your PC before trying this, just to be on the safe side, although I ran it on 2 PCs with the above issue and one failing to download an important Windows update, without any problems, OS: Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHzRAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU: MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB] SSD: Corsair Force MP510 (for OS); 2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)HDD: Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)
November 1, 20214 yr Author Thanks for the reply. I'll have a look at the thread you linked. This all started when I tried to install AOE4 and they have/had some metering scheme in place. Since that failure, nothing on the Game Pass will run; including the sim. Very microsoftish, for sure. November 1, 20214 yr Author Mr 109sqn's solution worked. Thanks! I'm squeamish about reinstalling, but it worked and only took a few mins. Glad it worked. I'm not a fan of reinstalling either, but sometimes needs must.👍 OS: Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHzRAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU: MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB] SSD: Corsair Force MP510 (for OS); 2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)HDD: Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)
November 1, 20214 yr A while back, MSFS was working fine except for the content manager and the store. In my case it turned out to be a dodgy addon which I diagnosed by emptying my community folder and putting my addons back in batches of 10 until I found and deleted the culprit). Oddly, I've had some addons that don't work, so I empty the community folder and put the suspect in on its own and its fine. Then I put back all my other addons and its fine too. I'm guessing that the sim is recreating the xml file with the suspect scenery in a different position, which it prefers for some reason. TBH, I would like to see the scenery library back in the interface so I could set my own priorities there - e.g airports above photo sceneries, etc. Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
